adidas introduces 1st-ever sustainable Stan Smith golf silhouette

adidas‘ iconic Stan Smith silhouette has received a number of makeovers these past few months, including the recent Kermit the Frog iteration and Disney-inspired styles. Now, the sportswear brand has returned with another rework of the shoes dedicated to golf.

“The Stan Smith is one of the most recognized footwear silhouettes in the world,” said adidas Golf’s global footwear director Masun Denison in a press release. “The shoe has become part of the wardrobe for so many people over the last few decades, so to finally bring that same vibe, personality, and style to the course is something we know a lot of golfers will be excited about.”

Marking this the Stan Smith’s first time venturing into golf, the silhouette arrives in a green colorway that represents adidas’ “End Plastic Waste” initiative, along with hits of white for added contrast. The upper is constructed out of the brand’s sustainable Primegreen material, which is made with high-performance recycled materials. Rounding out the sneaker are the removable white kilties, die-cut PU sockliners, PU cushioning in the midsoles and rubber spikeless outsoles.

The limited-edition Stan Smith Golf retails for $120 USD via adidas’ web store but is currently sold out. Stay tuned while we wait for more information about a potential restock.
