Indian Loyal Textile Mills Limited under its Supera Sheild Brand launched series of reusable ‘triple viral shield’ protective clothing i.e. personal protective equipment (PPE), masks, and protective fashion wear with anti-viral coating.

In collaboration with Reliance Industries India and HeiQ from Switzerland, Loyal Textile Mills launched the series in a virtual press conference. All these products have passed the viral penetration test, synthetic blood penetration test, and the SBPR test said by the company.

R|Elan FeelFresh fiber from Reliance Industries will be used in manufacturing masks, PPE, and garments which is inherently anti-microbial that inhibit any viral or bacterial growth, said Gunjan Sharma, CMO, Reliance Polyester.

The fabric is then treated with HeiQ Viroblock, a technology innovation from Switzerland, which is said to be proven to have anti-viral efficacy of 99.99 percent against coronavirus SARS-Cov-2 (COVID-19), he added

He further added that the fabric is also engineered with a viral barrier PU film lamination from Taiwan that adds up as another powerful protective layer.

The range is a blend of art and ‘smart’, with such fabrics providing enhanced aesthetics, functionality, and comfort. Through this, Reliance’s goal was to meet the needs of all customers across all clothing segments such as activities, denim, formals, casuals, and women’s clothing.

The company has felt the need to join the fight against COVID-19 epidemiology and design reusable masks and PPE kits and fashion wear that has triple protection technology from viruses and bacteria, said Dhamodaraswamy Devadas, Chief Technology and Business Development Officer of Loyal Textiles Mills Limited.

Additionally, an anti-viral spray technology had been developed for garments. The masks and garments can be washed up to 25 times and the PPEs can be washed up to 10 times.

Loyal Textiles has tied up with several hospitals in Chennai and all Tata hospitals across the country to supply PTE kits and masks, aiming for ₹100-crore turnover from these products this year. It expects ₹50 crores turnover from masks and PPE and another ₹50 crores from clothing. Loyal Textile has a production capacity of 30,000 to 50,000 masks and 4,000 to 6,000 PPE daily.
