Teijin introduces two brand new carbon fiber intermediate materials

Leading carbon fiber and carbon fiber intermediate materials manufacturer brand, Teijin introduces two new carbon fiber intermediate materials – Tenax PW (power series) and Tenax BM (beam series) – for sports applications.

Tenax PW is an advanced aircraft-quality material that aids to maximize power and speed. Tenax BM is a highly advanced material appropriate for use in satellites. It is ideal for applications needing elasticity.

Tenax PW has excellent durability and toughness. Finished with high-tenacity, high-tensile-modulus resin, Tenax PW also overturns and absorbs impact forces to minimize and restrict damage after impact.

Besides, its compressive strength is greater than that of Teijin’s standard carbon fiber prepregs. Using these same greater features, sports goods made with Tenax PW enable powerful, speedy swings.

Tenax BM is perfect for applications needing flexibility and resistance to thermal enlargement due to its brilliant rigidity, straightness, operability and stability.

Tenax BM also offers superior vibration damping (suppression and absorption), achieving four times greater damping than that of Teijin’s standard carbon fiber prepregs. Sporting goods made with satellite-quality Tenax BM are highly resistant to impact deformation and shake.

Globally the demand for cutting-edge materials that support high performance are constantly increasing in the sports industries, which is why lightweight, highly inflexible carbon fiber has been a preferred material for many years.

Teijin has now decided to accelerate its development of carbon fibre intermediate materials for sports applications utilizing the company’s proprietary carbon fibre technologies deployed in aircraft and satellites.
