Shawn Harris of Orange Wings Ventures has invested €1.60 million in ULTRAVIOLET Group B.V., a company that owns the upscale underwear line ULTRAVIOLET.
The investment will primarily be utilized, according to the start-up brand, for ULTRAVIOLET’s continued international growth and brand awareness, the development of sister brand SAPPH, the introduction of ULTRAMAN, and the creation of new brand stores.
Also, SAPPH became part of the ULTRAVIOLET GROUP in 2020 and a major reorganization took place within the brand. The focus has completely switched to brand experience and the organization for growth in the coming years.
The investment will also be used to develop SAPPH, ULTRAVIOLET, and launch ULTRAMAN, which is scheduled to debut in the MENA region in May of this year.
In seven Arabic-speaking nations, a full Arabic webshop and operation will launch in April. This year also includes plans to launch French web stores as well as US and UK versions. According to the brand, the opening of an additional 7 brand outlets is planned for the upcoming years.
Annique van der Zande, Founder of ULTRAVIOLET said, “With the investment of Orange Wings Investments, a number of long-cherished dreams come true: three labels, one of which finally includes a men’s underwear line. In addition, the growth plans can provide even more physical points of sale, such as the new brand store in Antwerp and a pop-up in Amsterdam.”
Shawn Harris of Orange Wings Investments added, “Annique is very talented and knows the lingerie industry inside out. She has worked on all sides of production in Asia, has led teams in large multinationals, and has been running her own company for a few years now. With the support of Orange Wings, I am very much looking forward to working together to strengthen and give wings to their three brands.”
